Unfortunately, Deadmau5 won’t be playing Sziget 2010 anymore. According to a message from the Deadmau5 management,

[...] whilst performing onstage at the 9:30 club in Washington DC,

deadmau5 collapsed, suffering exhaustion and vomiting. Medics at the venue took

him directly to hospital where he is now under supervision

deadmau5 is sad to advise his fans that on the strict advice of the doctors, he

now has no choice but to cancel the next 9 shows of his Summer tour schedule to

allow for his recovery. The dates affected are listed below.

Deadmau5 hopes to reschedule appearing in these cities in due course but in the

meantime thanks all his fans for their understanding and support.

August 7th Summersonic Osaka Japan

August 8th Summersonic Tokyo Japan

August 12th Cream at Amnesia Ibiza

August 15th Sziget Festival Budapest Hungary

August 17th Cavo Paradiso Mykonos Greece

August 18th Opium Mar Barcelona Spain

Some other interesting news is that Breakestra will be replaced by Die Antwoord on August 15, at the Party Arena.

Ukrainian band Antytila has won the Nemiroff contest and will play Sziget 2010. The Ukranian rock band will play the Rock Stage on August 13.

Their performance is set to start at 00:40.

Mika will be part of the Sziget 2010 lineup. According to the schedule on the official English Sziget site, Mika will play Sziget Festival on August 13, at 19:45.

They will be followed by 30 Seconds To Mars. These changes will be reflected in our lineup page.

The official Hungarian site lists an almost full schedule for this year’s Sziget Festival.

It also lists the whole listof acts for the Main Stage.

We’ve updated our Sziget 2010 lineup page to include all the new dates and schedules.

Iron Maiden, one of this year’s Sziget headliners, has announced the release date for their new record, “The Final Frontier”. The new record will be out on Monday, August 16, just after their performance at the Sziget Main Stage.

Also, the band have made the artwork of the new album available. You can see it below.

Iron Maiden have also made a new track, off “The Final Frontier”, available as a free download to their fans. It’s called El Dorado and you can get it here (the server’s a bit crowded…).

The Official Dutch Sziget site lists a whole lot of new and interesting names in its programme section, for the MR2, Amfitheater (jazz) Stage, and Roma Stage. We’ve added them all to our line-up page, so make sure you check it out to get the whole view.

Here are some of the most interesting ones:

• Heaven Street Seven, Quimby and Pannonia All-Stars Ska Orchestra – MR2
• Klezmofobia, Kalocsa and Napra – Roma Stage, that also adds a few DJs for some really cool nights at Sziget
• An Pierlé & White Velvet, Special Providence and Balázs Elemér Group – Amfitheater

Legendary Hungarian band Tankcsapda have announced their presence at this year’s Sziget Festival on their official website. Tankcsapda will play Sziget on August 14.

The band’s official site says that they will play at 19:30, but doesn’t mention a stage.

UPDATE: fromhungary says that they will definitely play right before Iron Maiden, on the Main Stage.

Another cool act in the  Sziget Festival 2010 lineup.

The Black Box Revelation have confirmed their presence at this year’s Sziget Festival for August 12 on their official Facebook page.

The announcement that we’ve all been waiting for is now here. The organizers have posted it on the Official Hungarian site minutes ago and features some very important news.

First of all, it’s now officially confirmed that Madness will be back on the Sziget Main Stage after their great performance in 2007, like we told you some time ago.

Then, Johnny Rotten of Sex Pistols fame will be at Sziget with Public Image Limited, or P.I.L.

That’s all in terms of Main Stage acts. The Party Arena will also feature DJ Shadow (live) and a bunch of new DJs – Boyz Noise, Erol Alkan, Sander van Doorn, Andy Moor, Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joel Mull and Deadmau5.

The new act that has been announced for the Wan2 / A38  is Ez3kiel.

Just a reminder that today is the last day when you can get non-camping tickets for 140 Euros a piece (camping tickets for 170).

Starting tomorrow, tickets will be 170 Euro (200 camping). If you can and want to save some money, you should get your ticket today.

In other news, Billy Talent are set to play on a very busy August 15t - Danko Jones, Kasabian and Muse are to play on the same night.
