The official announcement has been made and the list starts with Madness (a well-known name to Sziget fans and always a fun show) and The Bloody Beetroots. Triggerfinger are also very familiar faces, and the announcement also contains Leningrad and Black Sun Empire, which you knew about a bit earlier. UPDATE: Sziget Italia says that Queens of the Stone Age will be playing Day Zero, which is August 12. The official site also confirms that information. Placebo, Queens of the Stone Age are probably the most important first names for Sziget 2014, but they are not the only artists to be part of this first announcement. As promised yesterday, new names are in. The list starts with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, a name many of you guys mentioned in your wishlists. Then, it’s Franz Ferdinand, also mentioned quite a bit, followed by !!!, Noisia and Timbuktu. No Iron Maiden, as rumored though, but who knows, maybe in the next announcement. Two more acts have been confirmed to play at Sziget 2013 and this time it will be good news mostly for Dutch Sziget fans. We’re talking about Daily Bread and Splendid. The two acts are playing at the Dutch Sziget, Balaton and EXIT pre-party and are mentioned in the article about it (Google-translated version here). The official Dutch Facebook page has also confirmed them for Sziget 2013. Also, if you want to see them before Sziget, you can go to the party in Amsterdam’s Melkweg on May 23rd.
