Sziget 2015 Memories: Martin Garrix’s Live Set Complete

Martin Garrix @ Sziget 2015

19 year old Dutch DJ Martin Garrix was the closing act of this year's Sziget Festival. He was so much caught up in the Sziget feeling that after concluding with the End Show, he refused to accept that it was over. He concluded his show at Sziget with a 90 minute "backstage" show for his friends and the workers still there, while it was pouring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJRWr7-pfiQ For those who were unable to attend the festival on Sunday, or want to relive the closing moments of this year's Sziget Festival, here is the complete Martin Garrix end show. Record Breaking Attendance at Sziget 2015

Sziget Festival 2015

The Island of Freedom has closed its gates on Sunday night (or Monday morning, depending on how you count the days). This was the 23rd edition of the festival, and it has broken every record on daily and weekly attendance. During the week-long event the number of visitors exceeded 441,000, coming from all over the world. The top ten countries where visitors have come from includes the Netherlands, the UK, France, but also Australia, with more than 1,000 visitors coming from Down Under. But the organizers recorded visitors from Botswana, Ecuador, the Cayman Islands and Guadalupe as well - a total

How was Sziget 2013 for you?

Another year, another Sziget Festival has passed, with band we liked more or less in the lineup, but, as always, with tons of fun. And if you weren’t there, you could always get in on the action through live streams. Since some of you have already started sending in their thoughts, we thought we’d do a special post, where you can leave comments telling everyone about the way you experienced Sziget 2013.

Watch the Sziget 2012 Aftermovie!

Miss Sziget 2012? Well, this could do a bit to ease your pain. The Sziget 2012 aftermovie is ready and posted. That’s right. over 7 minutes, as a conclusion to this summer’s week of fun. And who knows, maybe you can spot each other in it. Anyway, the organizers have posted it and you can watch it below, too. Enjoy!

A great Sziget 2011 Unofficial Video Documentary

Here's a really great unofficial Sziget 2011 video documentary, kinda summing up a part of our favorite festival's mood. Or, in the words of the authors: There are lots of videos out there about the concerts at Sziget. We chose instead to make this 'visual documentary' to synthesize the ENTIRE Sziget Universe that every year exists for a week on Obudai Island. From the concerts to the camp life, from the Stars performing to the 'normal' people screaming with joy, the food, the street artists, and everything in between. We try to show every aspect of what makes Sziget so special to

Festival Memories #7

Sziget has been over for two weeks now, but your Sziget accounts keep on coming to Szigetnews.com. Keep them coming through the contact section, or via comment. Here's the latest we received, from Szigetnews friend Kevin:  Sziget was good as always, but it was better the last couple of years… Prices have gone up extremely over the last two years. Line-up was a nice 90ies-feel line-up, but we’re living 10 years later... Two friends of mine were robbed. Both were sleepinh in there tents when people came into their tents to get stuff out! That’s not your own fault! Don’t know if I’ll go again.

Festival memories #2

Looks like the festival wasn't that great for some of our readers. Here's Niall Cleary's opinion: " what a load of rubbish!!!pendulum and carl cox cancelling, justice playin at 12 pm, campsites un-safe and the mood at this years festival was nothing on previous years..yes maiden rocked and REM surprised but seriously the organizers have to take a long hard look at improving next years line-up. apparently 5 days meant a stronger line-up...not convinced at all...wont be telling any stories of praise upon returning home" Our reader gianpiero wants the festival to return to its usual 7-day format, and also wants "a
