The newest big name to be confirmed for the Sziget 2013 line up is, it would seem, Motörhead. A few of our friends have seen a Sziget 2013 date announced on the Motörhead official website, which would have made it a self-confirmation, but that date has been pulled off before we could take a screenshot. The date was August 5 for Lemmy & the gang at Sziget Festival, and it also appears in a list of tour dates that a user called Snaggletooth has posted on the forums on the official website – you’ll need to be registered in order to see
Although there will be metal at Sziget 2013, the news is not so good for you if you’re a metal fan and plan to attend the festival. According to a reply by the Sziget Italia Facebook page administrator, Sziget won’t have a dedicated metal stage this year, either. A Sziget fan has asked whether there will be a metal stage this year at Sziget and the answer was that there will be venues hosting metal, but not a dedicated one, as you can see in the screenshot below. (thanks go to Bender!)
In case you’re a metalhead coming to Sziget and waiting for the names on day zero, good news! The organizers have answered a comment that asked when the bands would be announced on the Sziget Festival Official Facebook. The answer was: “in two weeks”, as you can see below (provided you understand a bit of Hungarian). Let’s hope for some interesting names! (thanks, mellowmaniac!)
The official Sziget website lists a few new names for the Rock & Metal Stage. We're talking about a few Hungarian bands, completing the lineup, but also two bands a band coming from other countries. The foreign band is Swedish/Danish Progressive band The Haunted - pictured below. The Hungarian bands are Road, Dalriada, Depresszio, Nevergreen, Omen, Subscribe and Superbutt. The Lord band listed is also a Hungarian one, and they are listing the Sziget date on their website (thanks, dakota). Of course, these bands will be in our Sziget 2011 line up page very soon.
The official Hungarian website has updated the program page and there are some interesting things in it if you look carefully, as well as some new names. Let's start with the new names, shall we? First of all, on the Europe Stage, two new bands have been added: KILLO KILLO Banda and The Broken Beats. KILLO KILLO Banda will play on August 12, while The Broken Beats will play Sziget on August 10. On the A38-Wan2 stage, two new acts have been added: Electrelane (on August 11) and Watchaclan (August 13), both very interesting from what we could hear on their respective sites. Now,
Some really cool information coming our way today. First of all, metal fans will be happy to hear that the official Szigetfest Twitter account is announcing Helloween for the Metal Stage. The same source also announces Goose, for those wanting to party at Sziget. (UPDATE: Goose will be playing on August 11, according to their Facebook - thanks Eva!) On the other hand, the Sziget France Facebook announces Hudson Mohawke for the A38-Wan2. They're also confirming Goose and Helloween.
Iron Maiden has posted the Sziget 2010 date on their official website. According to the "Tour Dates" section on the Iron Maiden official site, they will play Sziget on August 14. This might be important news for people that only want to come to Sziget for the week-end. That's because they'll be the main act for this Sziget's Saturday night.
(this post is updated constantly) The first official line-up announcement has just been posted on the official Hungarian website. The first two very important names are ones that we all suspected - Muse and Iron Maiden!!! Next come more important names: Kasabian, Billy Talent, The Specials and Gorrillaz Sound System. Happy hardcore band Enter Shikari and Infected Mushroom (that Sziget News found out about some time ago) will also be there. Then, Faithless, Danko Jones, the Hives and The Toy Dolls and Bad Religion (both of the last two names were announced here). Also at Sziget will be Ska-P, that have been at Sziget before, and
Yes, that's right, another important act has confirmed its presence at this year's Sziget Festival. The band that has confirmed its presence in Sziget 2010's lineup is GWAR. Oderus Urungus' men were supposed to be at Sziget Festival 2009, this didn't happen, but they will be here this year. GWAR is known to be a great live act, so we can't wait to see them at this year's Sziget. GWAR will play Sziget Festival 2010 on August 11 and their presence is announced on the GWAR official website. (thanks Jari!)
AND ANOTHER UPDATE: the Paradise Lost official site also confirms this, so it's 100% sure. UPDATE: the news is also on Paradise Lost's official Facebook page. An important name is self-confirmed to be at this year's Sziget Festival. Paradise Lost have just confirmed themselves on their official MySpace page for this year's Sziget Festival. According to their MySpace site, Paradise Lost will play Sziget Festival 2010 on August 13. (thanks, Mellowmaniac)
