The band that Jared Leto is leading will be playing the Main Stage on Saturday, August 13, at 21:30, replacing Amy Winehouse.

Let’s start with the new names, shall we?

First of all, on the Europe Stage, two new bands have been added: KILLO KILLO Banda and The Broken Beats. KILLO KILLO Banda will play on August 12, while The Broken Beats will play Sziget on August 10.

On the A38-Wan2 stage, two new acts have been added: Electrelane (on August 11) and Watchaclan (August 13), both very interesting from what we could hear on their respective sites.

Now, on the Rock and Metal Stage, we also have two new acts: Tankcsapda, playing August 14 (they need no introduction) and Austrian melodic death metallers The Sorrow (on Ausgust 13).

Last but not least, the Meduza venue also adds Dario Zenker for August 12.

On the Roma Stage, we have a new act as well – A the Sam.

All of these changes are reflected in our Sziget 2011 line up page.

This should calm down fans that were concerned about her well-being…

Let’s see all the new names, then.

The Main Stage now also features Manic Street Preachers, White Lies, La Roux, Mariachi El Bronx, Batucada Sound Machine and Ben l’Oncle Soul.

The World Music Stage will also have performances by Cowboy Junkies, Sly & Robbie feat. Jr. Reid, Magnifico, Shetl Superstars, Ska Cubano, Csik Zenekar, Lajko Felix, Muzsikas, Oi Va Voi and LaBrassBanda.

On the A38/WAN2, the organizers have added Bomb The Bass, Kode9, Digital Mystikz, Gaslamp Killer, Suicidal Tendencies, Xiu Xiu, De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, DeWolff (both announced here) , Kees van Hondt (but you knew about him from Szigetnews) , Selah Sue, Terry Poison and Buraka Som Systema Live.

For the Party Arena, here’s what’s new: Trentemøller, Zombie Nation, 2manydjs, Above & Beyond, Group Therapyt, Cristian Varela, Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Marc Houle, Kevin McHugh and Technasia.

As for the Europe Stage, here’s the new acts: Wallace Vanborn, Ismo Alanko & Teho, For a Minor Reflection, Elvis Jackson, Puding Pani Elvisovej, Skyline, Gravity Co., Francis International Airport and The Mono Jacks.

How about all of that?

1.) The openair Metalmainstage will be placed where the metal tent was in the last years. The stage will be moved further backwards into the field so that more people will fit in front of the stage.

2.) The Europestage will be placed where last year the Jazzstage has been.

3.) On the Europestage 5 bands will perform each day.

4.) No infos about the jazz program of this year yet after the original stage got deleted.

On thursday will be a big press conference maybe also covering some of the other open questions (return of the Szigetphone, overnight volumelimit, Day Zero).

 

A newsletter from the French Sziget page, promoting the early bird ticket prices, lists Ben L’Oncle Soul in the lineup, as seen below.

The agreement states that the festival will not be louder than 55 decibels between 11 pm and 6 am and that noise limiting devices will be fitted, in order to turn the volume down, should it pass that level. Sziget will pay a 1 million foint fine if the noise exceeds the agreed level. The orientation of the stages will also be changed in order to comply with the agreement.

Apart from Amy Winehouse and Lostprophets – two acts we told you about, here’s what the announcement (and, by consequence, the Sziget 2011 line up) has to offer:

Kasabian, The Maccabees and Good Charlotte are coming, and so do Deftones and Within Temptation (returning after an excellent performance a few years ago).

Joining will be Kid Cudi, as well as Peter Bjorn and John.

The World Music lineup is completed by Socalled, Choc Quib Town and Cheikh Lo.

It actually was wisful thinking, but who knows?

The official Sziget Festival Facebook page is announcing the fact that “New names for Sziget Festival 2011 line-up will be announced tomorrow!”. This should be the second big announcement, featuring, most certainly, lots of interesting names.

On the other hand, the official Sziget France Facebook page has announced the schedule for days -1 and 0. Day -1 – August 8 – will be the day of the “European Sziget contest” (with 30 groups in the competition), while Day 0 – August 9 – will be dedicated to Hungarian bands + some surprises on the Main Stage.
