Only 6 days until Sziget Festival starts. You can get the final official programmation here, so you know exactly what acts you want to see and when.

There’s still no news about who the last act playing on the Main Stage on August 15th will be and whether there will be one.

Until we find out exactly who that will be, you can watch a video of a very interesting band playing Sziget Festival this year, Kultur Shock. The band will play Sziget on August 13th, at the A38 Stage, starting at 23:00 hours.

We’ve had a lot of feedback from you about the line-up poll and most of you (51% - 188 votes) thought it could have been better this year. Still, a closer look at the Main Stage schedule on the official site will rise a question mark.

There is nothing programmed on Friday August 15th, in the spot between URH and Sex Pistols. Will there be a new announcement soon? That is the question.

It it very hard to think that the spot will remain empty or that URH will play for three whole hours.

We’ve had the poll on the site for a few days now, and 330 visitors voted. The results were a bit surprising. Out of 330 votes, 163 visitors (49%) thought this year’s Sziget line-up could have been better, while 18% (60 voters) think it’s good and 16% (52 voters) think it’s very good. On the other hand, 38 visitors (12%) found nothing interesting in the line-up. Only 5% of the voters (17 visitors) say that the line-up exceeded their expectations. This is why we’re asking you what it is you think it’s missing.

Which act would have been a good addition to this year’s Sziget Festival?

“The Finnish prophets of fictional world music”, as they call themselves, will play Sziget Festival this year. Their performance will take place on August 14th, as mentioned on their website.

More good news for metal fans. British Death Metal legends Carcass will play this year’s Sziget Festival. Carcass will play the Hammerworld Stage, on August 17th, starting at 21:00 hours.

More new and important names for this year’s Sziget. The Presidents of the USA and The Kooks are confirmed for this year’s festival. The Presidents of the USA will play the Main Stage on August 14th, while The Kooks are set to play on August 13th.

The latest important name to be added to this year’s line-up are The Killers. The Killers have been a Sziget headliner last year, too. The Killers will play Sziget on August 17th, at the Main Stage.

Good news for all of you coming to Sziget to see Pendulum. According to their MySpace page, Pendulum will play Sziget on August 17th, starting at 20:00 hours.

Here’s a rumor that we told you about a while ago, that is now confirmed. Many of you metalheads going to Sziget this year will be happy to hear that Meshuggah will play this year’s Sziget Festival. The news is confirmed on their official site. Meshuggah will play Sziget on August 16th.

 

Dancehall reggae artist Ziggi will be at Sziget this year. Ziggi will play Sziget on the 15th of August, at the Main Stage.
