Another day, another act self-confirmed.
We’re talking about French act HK & Les Saltimbanks. They describe their music as “one of the citizens of the world, denying any idea of frontier, be it physical or musical. […] Music with influences coming from Africa, Europe, America… colored with Blues, Chaâbi, Hip-Hop, reggae”
In a word, they describe it as “nomadic”
You can check them out on their MySpace, the place where they have confirmed their presence at Sziget 2012.
(thanks to the German Sziget board)

Blur will play at way out west festival sweden, 9-11 august! &on the the 12th in london, so they might come to sziget
god i hope so… and refused as well
Refused would be great for Sziget 2012!
Also, I’m still hoping for the Foo Fighters this year.
Black Keys and Bon Iver would be great as well
i want lana del rey, don’t accuse me of having bad taste
nothing wrong with that bob, nothing wrong with that
Black Keys and Bon Iver do have too many scandinavian gigs at the time of Sziget that chances are very low…
Blur would be amazing, but with two scandinavian and the London show confirmed (and Placebo as Szigetheadliner on the 8th) chances aren’t too good either. The best chance would be as Day Zero headliner, but I dont think they are very suitable if even Prince drew way too few people (possible: 07.08. Blur at Sziget (Day Zero), 09. & 10.08. Smukfest & Way out West and on 12.08. London).
Hi.
I only know Placebo, Korn and Crystal Fighters. Which of the announced bands/groups do you folks think are worth listening to and checking out at Sziget?
Thank you.

to Jackie:
I suggest
Hurts
Ministry
Two Door Cinema Club
Mando Diao
The Vaccines
Noah & The Whale
Friendly Fires
Magnetic Man
Viza
of course, it depends on your taste in music:) but try them in Youtube first.
@Jackie:
I think it’s a little early to give suggestions, because about 90 additional international bands are still to be confirmed, but here are some additional info:
- Beatsteaks are a German punk-rockband. They are an incredible live band and do play headlinershows in Germany in front of up to 10.000 people. If you do like good sounding rockmusic you should check them out at Sziget. They have performed at Sziget twice before and always were audience favorites.

- dEUS are one of the biggest bands from Belgium. They regularly headlined the second stage at Rock Werchter (Belgium’s biggest major festival) and are sometimes compared to bands like Radiohead – even though they don’t sound like them very much. It’s more about their willingness to experiment and leave well known structures. I once saw them at Rock Werchter with an dance ensemble dancing a kind of modern ballet to their music.

- Friendly Fires are well known in the UK, but haven’t had big international success. Their music is (especially live) very ecelctic and dancable. They combine indie-guitar-pop with dance music and it’s always fun to see them live.

Machine Head
I would love to see Limp Bizkit, Skrillex, Dropkick Murphys, Enter Shikari, Radiohead, Wolfmother or A Day To Remember
Thank you for the suggestions guys.
Ilbert: I have a wide range of music I like and I am willing to give any type of music a chance, but for Sziget anyone that is particularly good live.
Mellowmaniac: I ask now precisely because later there are so many bands to check out that I will miss some of them if I only ask a month before the festival. Now there is still time to listen to some of the ones i don’t know and get to know their music.
I will definitely ask for suggestions again later on.
Please let us know when they announce acts that we shouldn’t miss live.
I like crystal fighters’ music, but do you think they are worth checking out live?
Thanks again.

Anyone else think that Madness will visit again?
