More possible Sziget artists

One of our most active readers, Mellowmaniac, has gathered a few more important acts that have confirmed the V and Beautiful Days Festivals and could be a part of the Sziget Festival 2009 line-up. Here’s what he sent us this time (between brackets are dates that are already booked):

  • Lamb (07.-09.08 + 21.-23.08)
  • The Pogues (21.-23.08.)
  • Dreadzone (13.-15.08 + 21.-23.08.)
  • Dub Pistols (21.-23.08)
  • Razorlight (22. + 23.08)
  • Lily Allen (11.-15. + 22. + 23.08)
  • Happy Mondays (22. + 23.08.)
  • Katy Perry (22. + 23.08.)
  • MGMT (22. + 23.08.)
  • Pendulum (22. + 23.08) – remember they promised to return this year, as they couldn’t play last year.

If you guys have heard any other rumors or facts, we’re very interested in hearing it.

  1. Dub Pistols will play at Balaton Sound according to their myspace site, so I don’t think that they’ll play at Sziget.

  2. I know it was discussed earlier, but U2 just anounced their summertourdates and at least Day Zero would be possible (because they can charge more for the additional tickets):

    06. August Chorzow, Slaski Stadium
    10. August Zagreb, Stadium Maksimir
    14. August London, Wembley Stadium London
    18. August Glasgow, Hampden Park
    20. August Sheffield, Don Valley Stadium
    22. August Cardiff, Millenium Stadium

  3. because I’m a fan I’ve just read this at MGMT’s forum:

    “Dockville Fest
14 August – Elbinsel, Hamburg (Germany)”

it’s just a detail but it is closer to Hungary and on that week. I don’t think that this is really matters but who knows, so I thought I could note it.

  4. @ Dora: Sziget is known to book artists that are in the area, first of all. So you just might be right on this one.
