New Circus venue at Sziget 2013!

Sziget has always been more than a music festival, and the new venue, announced recently on the official Facebook pages, just comes to prove it.

Sziget 2013 will have a dedicated circus venue, having the feeling of travelling circuses in the 1890s.

What’s even nicer is that afternoons will include interactive programs, where the audience will be able to try some circus instruments.

Evenings will bring programs by Hungarian acrobats Recirquel – they were present at Magic Mirror last year, and the program will be concluded by Swing & Circus, which combines swing, electro-swing and circus.

What do you think? Is it a good idea?

Check out Recirquel in the video below.

  1. May be interesting, but were you looking for this or for a new headliner name? I’m very scared about this year…

  2. @Bender: I think this years lineup is might the best of the past years. I’m really happy with the names that allready are confirmed. And i’m thinking that the remainder names / headliners not be a disappointment. There are enough acts that are touring in Europe at the moment of Sziget

  3. Dizzee Rascal on 8th of August (facebook Dizzee Rascal)
Hadouken! – 5th of August (on official website, so strange date…)
    Ska-P – August 8. (official website).
Katy B – August 5. (facebook page. Also strange date.)
Peter Bjorn and John – also August 5 🙂 (website)
Tame Impala – August 11 (website)

  4. I think some bands put the starting date of the festival on their website instead of the date they’re on.

July 26 Istanbul Turkey – Inonu Stadium
July 30 Budapest Hungary – The Budapest Park

    Facebook page ANTHRAX
“Stoopid Americans! Sorry, the correct dates with Maiden are:

    Wed 24 Jul
    Bucharest, Romania
    Bucharest Piata Constitutiei

    Fri 26 Jul
    Istanbul, Turkey
    Istanbul Inonu Stadium”

  7. Tourdates Maiden end of July:
Wed 24, Bucharest, ROMANIA, with Anthrax & Voodoo Six
Fri 26, Istanbul, TURKEY, with Anthrax & Voodoo Six
Mon 29, Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC, with Voodoo Six
Wed 31, Zagreb, CROATIA, with Anthrax & Voodoo Six
    No dates in August.

  8. ah yes sorry for the link

but I saw that he was touring on 2013(2 dates in France +1 in Italy + 1 in UK)

    typically a Sziget headliner

  9. Nick Cave
    July 28th Greenville festival Berlin
    Aug 9th Flow Festival Helsinki
Aug 15th Le Route Du Rock France

    Got to be a possibility?

  10. Björk? She has cancelled Balaton Sound last year, and now she’s playing august festivals in Europe.

  11. I think the remaining 4 headliners will be from these bands all playing in Europe in August:
    Nick Cave & TBS
    Biffy Clyro
    Franz Ferdinand
    Kings of Leon
    Iggy Pop
    Florence & the Machine
    System of a Dawn
    Green Day
    Nine Inch Nails
