It has been recently announced that around 60-80 consumer protection officers will work during this year’s Sziget Festival, in order to ensure everything is at an optimal rate. they will focus on food and water quality, as well as the safety of the venue (electric equipment, structures)
The organisers have also announced that police officers will randomly check visitors for drugs upon entrance, using dogs.

Tomorrow, Sziget Festival starts with Iron Maiden and Lauren Harris on the Main Stage.

He thinks that “If you are disappointed about the booked bands on this year’s sziget, just look at the sponsors… Warner is one of them and many of the labels artists are on Sziget… I think that’s a reason:-)”. The French duo that will play Sziget Festival this year on August 17th, has teamed up with design group Surface2Air to create their personal clothing line, inspired by their own wardrobe. You can already get them at a few retailers (jackets are 790 euros), as well as on Surface2Air’s website…

According to the French Sziget site newsletter, camping tickets are running out soon. So get yours real soon, if you are planning to stay on the island.
This year’s Sziget will offer a lot for people interested in high profile culture. You will be able to watch 35 theatre and ballet performances, and Hungarian museums will sponsor 12 events.
The festival’s stages will host theatre events by Danza Contemporanea de Cuba, Stockholm 59 Degrees North, Hofesh Shechter and the Vietnamese National Water Puppet Theatre. This year, museums will also have the opportunity to offer their own programmes to Sziget visitors.

Bad news for people hoping for a last minute announcement of Rage Against The Machine playing Sziget’s Main Stage this year. The last band on the Main Stage, playing on August 15, at 16:30, will be The Cribs.
