Sziget 2013 headliner speculations, round two 2013 line up artists Sziget 2013 sziget festival March 28, 201359 After yesterday’s news, time for the second round of speculation. Our reader the xx has posted a list we can most certainly all build on. Here it is, so let the comments begin! Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Biffy Clyro Franz Ferdinand Kraftwerk Kings of Leon Eminem Iggy Pop Florence & the Machine Green Day Nine Inch Nails Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
Fingers crossed for Nine Inch Nails! If have have any news about NIN, you can read them here: https://www.facebook.com/ninhungary
If SOAD or NIN were announced I would be amazed (and extremely happy)! More likely to be Rihanna though the way things are going.
SOAD are extremely unlikely – there just isn’t room on their schedule! After yesterday’s announcement, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Editors and Dizzee Rascal as 2 of the headliners, with something safe and not too expensive as the final choice – Franz Ferdinand, or Florence & The Machine maybe …..
Might be the only one, but Earth Wind & Fire are touring and if they come to Sziget I would be filled with joy.
My guess similar to Crazyfrog Bjork (Seems to fit the ART theme of the festival) Jamiroquai Flerence & the Machine Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds Personally I would prefer NIN or Craftwerk to Franz Ferdinand, Jamiroquai or Florence but I guess it is whoever is cheapest! Theshipscat may have a point: I would also not be suprised if Dizzee Rascal is announced as a headliner I hear The Rolling Stones are doing festivals this year:)
No fucking way The Rolling Stones would do Sziget. 🙂 I love them, but I think they’ll only do Glastonbury, no other festivals.
Only 1 of these names is the one i want to see @ sziget and that is eminem =) last year snoop dog and this year eminem it would be amazing (a)
Nine Inch Nails, The Kooks and Franz Ferdinand will be headliners, I think. You can add The Kooks in the speculation list.
I don’t care for Eminem or Biffy Clyro, but the rest would all be great though I’ve seen 7 of them and I’ll see the remaining one in July. I remember driving home totally fucked up after 8 days of Sziget and a friend put in a CD, while we were driving through the city. It was KOL’s Because of the times (the first song was Knocked up) and it was surreal. My still unseen bands wishlist includes Suede, Foals, Damien Rice, Lykke Li, The Black Keys, Bat for Lashes, Jack White, Pearl Jam, Lana Del Rey, Alabama Shakes.
Florence is performing in Poland on August 9th, Sziget is very probable then. She is really great live!
Mumford and Sons seems unlikely to me because they’re performing in Canada in the first weekend of August as well as later on in August.
SLAYER play : August 7th Stockholm Gröna Lund Festival Sweden August 9th Oulu Jalometalli Festival Finland August 10th Oslo Oya Festivalen Norway August 11th Derbyshire Bloodstock Open Air UK it is impossible that SLAYER plays again at Sziget 🙁
They’re also playing Hegyalja Festival in Hungary, which makes it even more impossible http://hegyaljafesztival.hu/programok
Dates System of a Down: August 7, Anapa, Russia August 9, Gavle, Sweden August 11, Mikkeli, Finland August 13, Lodz, Poland August 14, Prague, Czech Republic
Besides NIN, it would be great to see Atoms for Peace in Sziget, but I think they already announced all the European dates (including a nearby place in Slovakia). The Black Keys would be amazing too. Will they be in Europe this summer? The Daft Punk comment: wow, interesting. 🙂
Nine Inch Nails will definitelly not play Sziget, we can take them down from the speculation list. None of the following bands will play: “San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival has announced its 2013 lineup. The fest, which takes place from August 9 to 11 in Golden Gate Park, will feature Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, D’Angelo, the National, Grizzly Bear, A-Trak, Jessie Ware, Foals, Yeasayer, Youth Lagoon, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Wavves, the Men, Smith Westerns, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, Jurassic 5, Band of Horses, Willie Nelson, Matt & Kim, Surfer Blood, King Tuff, MS MR, and a whole bunch more.”
