Sziget 2013 tickets are available!

Good news for all Sziget fans out there who can’t wait for Sziget Festival 2013.

Sziget tickets are already available through Sziget partners all over Europe. The list of these partners can be found here.

Also, the central webshop on the Sziget website will open on November 7, so you will be able to get your ticket from there, too.

Nothing in the Sziget 2013 lineup yet, but we’re sure things will start popping up soon enough…

And don’t forget to make accommodation reservations while you’re at it, so you can get the best price.

  1. I was just wondering if anyone is actually prepared to buy a ticket this year ahead of any announcements?

The absence of the metal stage last year and the fact that a few European festivals are way ahead of the game with their early headline announcements had led me to question seriously whether I should go to Sziget this year.

Anyone else wish to share their thoughts, concerns?

  2. Actually I already bought mine 2nd of November 🙂
Some may think it’s stupid to buy tickets before any bands have been announced, but I don’t need to be convinced by the line up before buying my ticket. If I compare Sziget to other festivals I’ve been to, Sziget has always given me an experience way beyond average, while some other festivals, with what many would consider a better line up than the average Sziget line up, scored around or below average on the total experience. Therefore Sziget was again the first festival that came to mind when making plans for next summer.
When it comes to line up I personally consider Sziget a safe bet as long as you have the right expectations. Sziget doesn’t have a history of booking many top class headliners, so that’s something I don’t expect. I expect a line up where I will probably like a few of the headliners, but not all of them. But more important to me, I expect many smaller bands and DJs I’d like to see as well as many interesting acts to discover. Even in the unlikely case there won’t be one single band I like on Main Stage, I’m sure there will be plenty of other great bands and DJs to see on the other stages, as well as many other things to do on the festival site and in Budapest.
That said, I must admit that I’m not a metal fan. If metal is important to you, of course I understand your concern. To me the absence of the metal stage made no difference, since I did not go to the metal stage that often anyway.
The early headline announcements of other festivals are something I’ve seen in previous years too. Isn’t Sziget always late with announcing? Maybe it’s because it’s also one of the latest festivals in the season. Still, if line up would be more important for my choice of going to Sziget or not, I think in the end I would find it more relevant what the line up will be like than when it will be announced.
