Sziget announcement will include three names, john doe says

According to our friend john doe, the guy that always gets things right, the announcement coming this week will include three names.

john doe has also given another hint. The hint is:

sum:22

Your guess is as good as ours. It’s not Blink 182, as he mentions that they are in Germany and Austria during Sziget.

In other news, Irie Maffia will also be at Sziget 2014, according to the Facebook of their member Columbo. According to that source, August 17 will be their Sziget date.

  1. Thats not true, Blink 182 are free almost the entire week of sziget, playing festivals in germany/austria before and after. Very possible it will be them.

  2. As someone has already worked out, the SUM 22 hint has to be The 1975 (The sum of 1+9+7+5= 22)

Although not a fan, I also think OutKast will be announced.

    Third band?

One thing is for sure, I’m getting excited

  3. They confirm that Day 0 will incude Anti-Flag, Ska-P & Queens of the Stone Age + an opening show by Deadmau5

  4. As far as I understood the text on the hungarian site the mainstage will have a bigger focus on electronic artists, because the Party Arena was such a big success in the last years.

Let’s wait how things turn out in the end, but it looks like the trend of the last years (more and more electronic acts and less guitar driven music) keeps on.

I really hope that after putting metal music on Day Zero and then dropping it, it will not be followed by heavier rock and punk bands being put on Day Zero “only”. Right now all scheduled “harder” guitar bands are confirmed for day zero and 90% of the regular festival lineup consists of “electronic” artists, indie and pop bands.

But let’s get not too pessimistic (anyway: only if you are not that much into electronic music and pop), but wait for the announcements for the other stages. A lot of great stuff will be announced definitely.

  5. This is the lineup of the World Music Stage:

“The full line-up of the World Village Stage includes Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba, Besh o droM, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Depedro, DJ Click, DJ Gaetano Fabri, DJ Kosta Kostov, El Juntacadáveres, Fanfarai, Fanfara Transilvania, Gasmac Gilmore, Gipsy Burek Orkestar, Jupiter & Okwess International, Kobo Town, La Yegros, Napra, Oy Division, Parno Graszt, Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra, Projekt Rakija, Rupa & the April Fishes, Romengo, Russkaja, Söndörg?, Terakaft, The Sexican, Winston McAnuff & Fixi and Yasmine Hamdan.”
