Austria Festivals in August 2017. Could Lineups Overlap with Sziget?

Sziget 2017 Austria Festivals

In a previous post, we've taken a look at some of the music festivals happening this August in Romania. Let's change direction a bit, shall we? Let us take a peek on the festival scene of Hungary's Western neighbor, Austria, and its busy festival scene. As you might expect, the country has quite a few events happening in August 2017, showing us a list of artists and performers who might make it to Sziget's 25th-anniversary edition this year. Here we go: Frequency, St. Pölten, Austria, August 15 - 17 Frequency is one of the largest festivals in Austria, with an average attendance of about

BRIT Awards 2017: The List of Winners

BRIT Awards 2017 Winners

The BRIT Awards, sometimes called the Brits, is perhaps the most important event for the UK's music industry. The awards, given out by the British Phonographic Industry association (the BPI), have been recurring annually since 1982. The awards ceremony is transmitted live by the local TV channel ITV (the BBC's main competitor) and held in The O2 in London (since 2011). Robbie Williams is the British artist with the most BRITs under his belt: he won five of them as part of "Take That", and further 13 as a solo artist, followed by Adele and Coldplay with 9 awards each, "Take That" and Annie Lennox

Romania Music Festivals in August 2017. Could they overlap?

romania music festival august 2017

Romania is a large country with a history of turmoil, which has slowly began to catch up with the civilized West. One of the signs of its catching-up is its ever-growing festival scene. For years, Félsziget (Peninsula), Sziget's sister festival, was its biggest event. After its decline, a handful of smaller but growing events took its place - the best example would be Untold, its biggest EDM festival, that attracted over 200,000 attendees on its opening event in 2015, and won the "Best Major Festival" award in the same year. All through the summer, Romania is home to several festivals, yet

Balaton Sound, Electric Castle Announce First Names for 2017

Sziget 2017 Austria Festivals

Sziget has not announced any new names yet, but we can already speculate on who we will - and will not - see at the 2017 anniversary edition based on what other festivals either under Sziget's umbrella (Volt, Balaton Sound) or other festivals in the area (Electric Castle, Untold) announce. The first artists and bands to participate at some have seen the light of day today. Update: Hungary Today hints on Bastille coming to Sziget 2017. I personally think it's a mistake that sneaked into the article (it looks like a confusion by the author who wrote Sziget instead of Strand), but
