Experienced Sziget-dwellers surely know that the World Music Stage is one of the most interesting venues you can visit during the festival. It is a place filled with performers from all over the world, and the place where lots of local Hungarian bands share their art and entertainment with the diverse crowd visiting the island year after year. In a major press release, Sziget 2016 has shed a bit more light on what visitors can expect to see at this year's edition, adding some new performers to a variety of stages. So, without further ado, here are the names and their stages - what we know so far. Main Stage Performers - No change here On Day -1, Sziget's program will be opened by Marky Ramone's 40 Years of Punk Rock, followed by fresh materials by Skunk Anansie and the favored festival performer, Die Antwoord. Besides today's press conference, the Sziget Festival 2015's organizers have also released a communique to shed some light on which acts to expect on which stage. More Sziget 2013 lineup names will be coming pretty soon, according to an answer on the Sziget Festival Official Facebook page. A Sziget fan said that he thought more acts should be announced, and the administrator answered, as you can see in the screenshot, that new names would be coming “pretty soon.” Exactly how soon is that, we don’t know, but it’s still good news.
Just when we thought "announcement day" was over, another important name has popped up on the official Sziget Facebook page. Lily Allen will be at this year's Sziget Festival according to the new poster on the Facebook site, that you can check out below.(thanks, tool!) The big names are yet to arrive, but there are a few less-known acts that have announced their presence at Sziget Festival 2009. First, Feuerhuhn, a German band that lists a concert at Sziget on August 12 on their MySpace. Then there's Swing Manouche Project, the first confirmation for the Roma Tent, a place many Sziget visitors love. They are quite an interesting act, as you can see in the video below.
