Another name we already told you about is now official. Ben L'Oncle Soul, already hinted, is now official. A newsletter from the French Sziget page, promoting the early bird ticket prices, lists Ben L'Oncle Soul in the lineup, as seen below.
Thanks to our reader wim, we now know that DJ Kees van Hondt will be at Sziget 2011. Wim asked on this Kees van Hondt Twitter account whether he would play Sziget again this year, and the administrator asked Kees for him. The answer was that Kees has already booked the tickets and will be at Sziget this year. Here's a video of Kees van Hondt at Sziget last year.
Another cool act in the Sziget Festival 2010 lineup. The Black Box Revelation have confirmed their presence at this year's Sziget Festival for August 12 on their official Facebook page.
Romanian singer, actress and dancer Rona Hartner will be playing Sziget Festival 2010, according to her MySpace page. According to that same MySpace page, Rona Hartner will play Sziget 2010 on August 10. (thanks go to Jari)
Thanks to our friend Mellowmaniac, we found out that French band The Inspector Cluzo are set to be part of the Sziget Festival 2010 lineup. The band will promote their new album, called "The French Bastards" and what we can hear on their MySpace page makes them quite an interesting act to see live. Especially since they've played 185 shows in 47 countries last year, so it was about time for these French guys to get to Sziget. The news is confirmed on The Inspector Cluzo official MySpace page and also on The Inspector Cluzo official website, that has a rather "interesting
This just in: another great name has self-confirmed its presence ofr this year's Sziget Festival. Gotan Project have self-confirmed their presence for this year's Sziget Festival on their official MySpace page. Their interesting brand of music, mixing tango with other genres, will surely be a great addition to this year's festival. Gotan Project are set to play at Sziget Festival 2010 on August 13. What's even nicer is that they will promote their new album, that will be out on April 19th.
UPDATE: Szigetnews friend anonimous just wrote us, telling us that the Italian official vending company has said that they will have a meeting with the Hungarian team of Sziget and a big name will be known on the evening of the 15th. The Official Sziget France Facebook page announces an interesting information today. It says that we'll have the programme at the end of March. They were usually the best in terms of updates last year, too, so we can't wait to find out what we'll see this year! We're curious to know if this means the whole lineup (highly improbable) or the
We decided to go away from the party for a few moments and wish you a very happy 2010, with everything you want and, of course, a very exciting Sziget Festival. Lots of new things happening here these days, as you can all see (we're planning on keeping them coming). Apart from announcing a very possible performance by Blink 182 this year, Sziget News can also be accesed now by simply typing sziget2010.com in your web browser. We thought that would make things easier for you guys. We also have a Twitter account - we invite you to join us so you
Organisers of this year's Sziget will provide a clinic specialising in respiratory problems on-site, as well as a round-the-clock pharmacy for those who might feel unwell during the week-long event, Hungarian Health Minister Tamas Szekely and head of the festival Karoly Gerendai told reporters on Monday, according to caboodle.hu. The clinic will have 60 beds and will help those with flu-like symptoms. Music fans with other medical issues will be treated at the first-aid points. It is important that possible A/H1N1 patients are isolated, the minister said. He added that 122 new flu cases had been registered in Hungary up to now. 400
After so many rounds of good news, we have to give you a bad one, too. GWAR's show at this year's Sziget Festival is cancelled, according to the French Official Facebook site. The band is not mentioned on the official site, either, anymore. Too bad, it would have been a great show. (thanks, Tetert)
