Another week has passed without any new names announced by Sziget 2016. There is a lot of speculation about Radiohead possibly making it to the festival, but there's nothing confirmed just yet. However, there is still a lot of time left until the final lineup of the festival to be announced. Until then, let's see a few bands, like Rammstein and Nightwish, that are in Europe close to the dates of the festival, which could still be announced to play at Sziget 2016. Nightwish Nightwish has been to Sziget twice before, in 2001 and 2002. The band has already announced a series of festival
Although the budget of the Sziget Festival has grown to 4.4 billion HUF (over $16 million or 14 million euros) the current list of headliners to participate at this year's edition might not be as great as expected, the festival's organizers announced in a press conference today. Last year the festival's date was pushed back to avoid overlapping with major US and Japanese festivals. This year the above mentioned events will start later as well. This means that the organizers of Sziget might again be in trouble. Still, according to lead organizer Gerendai Károly, the interest in the festival is unbroken after
UPDATE: The Italian Sziget office wrote to us to correct the information below. Here's the information we received: The information about the about the headliners were their own considerations; they are not facts but their own speculations. The same thing goes for the things on 0 day, these are rumors that are going on on their forum. Again, not facts. And, more importantly, these rumors do not come from the Italian Sziget Office but from their users. We do hope this makes things clearer. UPDATE: Kasabian will be playing on the 15th, too, according to the official Kasabian MySpace. Our friend Sumo has some news from the admin
Another day, another headliner announced. After we've complained of a lack of artist names for this year's Sziget Festival, it looks like the announcements come one after the other. The Dutch official Sziget Festival site lists The Offspring among the headliners for this year's Sziget Festival.
Some rumors seem to suggest that the blues legend, that has a new album out, "Bad For You Baby", and is touring Europe this summer, might be one of this year's Sziget Festival headliners. And it seems quite possible, since he already has confirmed the Rock of Ages Festival in Germany, on August 1. More when we have it.
