The Sziget Facebook pages are announcing new names for tomorrow, and a very persistent speculation in comments is Iron Maiden, with one of our friends claiming to know so. Could that happen, do you think? Who else do you think will be part of the announcement? We’ll know for sure tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep on speculating…
The same Fesztivalok Varosa that have found the latest batch of acts before they were officially announced also has a list of speculations for the Sziget 2013 line up, based on bands touring Europe and the area at the time of Sziget Festival 2013. How about we all give it a look and speculate around it even more, like we do every year? Some of these acts are, we think, very possible additions to the Sziget 2013 line up. Here it is, including the Sziget News readers' input (so keep coming back,as the list gets modified every half an hour or so).
Szigetnews reader Apis 38 has sent us the full playlist of the videos he's made at Sziget Festival 2010. This is a very cool list, including videos from performances by a lot of the big names, including Muse, Iron Maiden, The Hives, Paradise Lost, Madness and many more. Check out these great videos below. Use the side arrows to cycle between videos.
We're back from the fantastic week that Sziget 2010 was, and everything was fabulous, as always. Still under the spell of the exceptional Muse show last night, or the great Iron Maiden performance (even if we got the impression that there were some sound problems there). It's hard to even mention what our highlights were. We loved Monster Magnet, but also Danko Jones. We enjoyed Ska-P's energetic show, but also Chapelier Fou's beautiful music. And we loved the fact that there was something cool to see every time we went by the Blues Stage (including the incredible Hubert Tubbs). We wanna hear
Quite an interesting press release we received today from the Sziget Office. To anticipate Iron Maiden's performance at Sziget, Derek Riggs, creator of Maiden mascot Eddie, has made a special Sziget drawing for the cover of New Noise magazine. The image features Eddie withe the Hungarian Parliament as a hat, shouting "Sziget". See the large image here. We can't wait for the festival to start, either...
Iron Maiden, one of the headliners of this year's Sziget Festival, has released the "Final Frontier" teaser online recently. They also announce that the video will be available on July 13. These things are just to keep you busy until we meet in front of the main stage at the Maiden show. Until then, enjoy the teaser below.
The official Hungarian site lists an almost full schedule for this year's Sziget Festival. It also lists the whole listof acts for the Main Stage. We've updated our Sziget 2010 lineup page to include all the new dates and schedules. Feel free to check it out if you want.
Iron Maiden, one of this year's Sziget headliners, has announced the release date for their new record, "The Final Frontier". The new record will be out on Monday, August 16, just after their performance at the Sziget Main Stage. Also, the band have made the artwork of the new album available. You can see it below. Iron Maiden have also made a new track, off "The Final Frontier", available as a free download to their fans. It's called El Dorado and you can get it here (the server's a bit crowded...).
Iron Maiden has posted the Sziget 2010 date on their official website. According to the "Tour Dates" section on the Iron Maiden official site, they will play Sziget on August 14. This might be important news for people that only want to come to Sziget for the week-end. That's because they'll be the main act for this Sziget's Saturday night.
(this post is updated constantly) The first official line-up announcement has just been posted on the official Hungarian website. The first two very important names are ones that we all suspected - Muse and Iron Maiden!!! Next come more important names: Kasabian, Billy Talent, The Specials and Gorrillaz Sound System. Happy hardcore band Enter Shikari and Infected Mushroom (that Sziget News found out about some time ago) will also be there. Then, Faithless, Danko Jones, the Hives and The Toy Dolls and Bad Religion (both of the last two names were announced here). Also at Sziget will be Ska-P, that have been at Sziget before, and
