We just saw a very interesting (and very short, but conclusive) post on the Sziget Germany Facebook page. It just says, as you can see below Neue Bestätigungen? Morgen! meaning “New confirmations? Tomorrow!” We can’t wait, even if it just means making 100% what we already know (although we do hope for more surprises)
Some good news from the Sziget Festival Official Facebook account. It seems that things are going really very fast this year, and we get to know more of the line up earlier on. When asked when new bands would be posted, the answer from the administrator was “next announcement is expected in a few weeks time”, as you can see below. We can’t wait! (thanks, Andy)
Sziget 2011 headliner Amy Winehouse has decided to actually go to rehab, in order to get prepared for her summer gigs, according to this news article on Gigwise. This should calm down fans that were concerned about her well-being..
...and everybody must be packing their bags by now. The final line-up, sent by the official French site, can be downloaded here. What do you think about it? What are you looking forward to this year?
Our friend Mellowmaniac has noticed that the Meduza Stage schedule has finally been posted on the official site, including Andrew Weatherall. What are you guys looking forward to at the Meduza Stage?
The Hungarian Official site lists a line-up that looks like the full one, that you can see here. There may be some minor modifications from this point on, but not much will change probably. What do you guys think about it?
First of all, you can download an official PDF of the full Sziget 2009 programmes here (or should we say the programmes so far). The source is the official French site. Second of all, Szigetnews friend Tijn has sent us quite some interesting news. Dutch site Rock Blog says that the Sziget 2009 Zero Day, the Rock Against Racism Day, will have some international acts, too, in addition to the local acts that will most certainly be present. More so, the official French Facebook site lists the question "Prognostics pour la tête d'affiche du Day Zero (11 août) ?", meaning "any
Just when we thought "announcement day" was over, another important name has popped up on the official Sziget Facebook page. Lily Allen will be at this year's Sziget Festival according to the new poster on the Facebook site, that you can check out below.(thanks, tool!) If you want to take a look at the other very interesting names that were confirmed today (including Faith No More, one of the most wanted bands for this year' s Sziget Festival, according to you guys), please take a look here.
It seems like today is one of those days in which announcements keep on coming. And we couldn't be happier. The official Sziget Facebook site lists a whole bunch of new names. And there are quite a few interesting ones, that will certainly make you happy, as there is something to every taste. Here we go, then.First, there is Tricky, then The Crystal Method and the Editors, as well as mr. Paul Oakenfold himself. Then, we have The Subways and Eric Prydz. As always, we've posted links to the official sites, so that you can check out the bands easily. What do you
As we already suspected, the news that Rise Against won't be at Sziget this year, after all, is now confirmed by our reader tool. He wrote an e-mail to their management, asking about this and the reply he got was the following: They are not coming- it ended up not working out! Sorry, we will be coming there on this album though. On the other hand, our friend Mellowmaniac has a few more line-up ideas for you, based on current tour dates. Let's hear him: Long time no rumours… To heat the Radiohead discussion up: The guys seem to move closer and closer to the
