Untold is quickly becoming Romania's leading EDM music festival. With a duration of just four days, the festival has an incredible concentration of leading EDM performers. Yesterday - probably to please all who love it - Untold has announced new names added to its lineup. Due to its date - it takes place between the 3rd and 6th of August - some of its performers might overlap with Sziget 2017. Romania Music Festivals in August 2017. Could they overlap?

romania music festival august 2017

Romania is a large country with a history of turmoil, which has slowly began to catch up with the civilized West. One of the signs of its catching-up is its ever-growing festival scene. For years, Félsziget (Peninsula), Sziget's sister festival, was its biggest event. After its decline, a handful of smaller but growing events took its place - the best example would be Untold, its biggest EDM festival, that attracted over 200,000 attendees on its opening event in 2015, and won the "Best Major Festival" award in the same year. All through the summer, Romania is home to several festivals, yet

Sziget Bookings Manager Dan Panaitescu Awarded Post-Mortem at Europe Festival Awards

Dan Panaitescu was for a long time one of the most important people in building the lineup for Sziget Festival, but not only that: he served as the International Booking Manager for Sziget, Volt, Balaton Sound, and Strand Festival. He is credited with having a very important role in the transformation of the Sziget Festival from a small, regional event into one that is widely considered one of Europe's best summer festivals. Dan Panaitescu was one of the key professionals Sziget has to thank for receiving the "Best Lineup Award" at the European Festival Awards last year. Unfortunately, Dan passed away

Balaton Sound, Electric Castle Announce First Names for 2017

Sziget 2017 Austria Festivals

Sziget has not announced any new names yet, but we can already speculate on who we will - and will not - see at the 2017 anniversary edition based on what other festivals either under Sziget's umbrella (Volt, Balaton Sound) or other festivals in the area (Electric Castle, Untold) announce. The first artists and bands to participate at some have seen the light of day today. Update: Hungary Today hints on Bastille coming to Sziget 2017. I personally think it's a mistake that sneaked into the article (it looks like a confusion by the author who wrote Sziget instead of Strand), but

World Music Stage Gets Day Zero Program

World Music Stage

The World Music Stage is one of the most popular venues at Sziget, adding a lot to its multi-cultural, colorful nature. Sziget 2016 has just announced the program of the stage, which - for the first time - will be active on Day Zero as well. This year the World Music Stage will incorporate the Roma Tent, the Afro-Latin-Reggae Stage, the Hungaricum Village, creating a venue dedicated to world music in a way never seen before, offering new talent and well-known artists - and, of course, its visitors - the unparalleled Sziget feeling. Roundup: Rammstein and other bands in Europe During Sziget 2016

Another week has passed without any new names announced by Sziget 2016. There is a lot of speculation about Radiohead possibly making it to the festival, but there's nothing confirmed just yet. However, there is still a lot of time left until the final lineup of the festival to be announced. Until then, let's see a few bands, like Rammstein and Nightwish, that are in Europe close to the dates of the festival, which could still be announced to play at Sziget 2016. Nightwish Nightwish has been to Sziget twice before, in 2001 and 2002. The band has already announced a series of festival
