Sziget 2014 dates now official!

The Sziget 2014 dates have now officially been announced, so if you're sure the lineup will be a great one and you don't need another incentive, you can go ahead and book your flight and hotel. The Sziget 2014 dates will be between August 11 and August 18. We're already looking forward to Sziget 2014 and, of course, we'll keep you posted with everything we find out. The dates have been confirmed in an article on the official website. Do you plan on going to Sziget 2014? Who do you think will play? Let us know in a comment!

New names very soon, Sziget Twitter says

According to the @szigetfest Twitter account, new names are coming very soon, as you can see below. The same tweet, that we have embedded below also says not to expect any Main Stage headliners. (thanks, Crazyfrog) Some new names will arrive very soon! Don't expect any new Main Stage headliner ;-) — szigetfest (@szigetfest) January 23, 2013 Also, the szigetfestival Facebook said yesterday in a comment that the list of names Festztivalok Varosa published and that we quoted is not the one to be announced. If it’s not, we can’t wait to hear what the new acts will be.

Announcement: The Killers & many more official!

As john doe has told us, here comes the announcement. It’s already posted on the Sziget Nederland Facebook page, and it starts with the already predicted The Killers. Lamb will also play, and so will Borgore, Crookers, DJ Fresh (we told you about him), as well as Dope, Dirtyphonics, MC Dynamite, D.O.D, High Contrast, Tiga, Azari & III (you knew about them from us), Modeselektor, Black Seeds, Wild Beasts, Kakkmaddafakka, Flux Pavilion, Saint Etienne, Anti Flag and Gocoo. The announcement also makes Amon Amarth official. We told you about them a while ago.

First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Some interesting news from the organizers via the official Sziget UK Facebook account. The next announcement of new names is on Monday (as you can see below). Some other interesting news comes from our friends at the German Sziget board. Gypsy Sound System are listed on their MySpace as playing Sziget Festival 2012, on August 8.

The first name tomorrow!

Here's some great news off the Sziget Italia Facebook page. The first name will be announced tomorrow! A competition is in place, letting people guess who that name is, and it ends at 9:30 tomorrow morning. So we're guessing the announcement will be made soon after that time! We can't wait (thanks Mirex and Fab)

The official Sziget website has posted the (almost full) schedule for this year's Sziget 2011. We don't have to speculate anymore, because everything is confirmed. You can check it out here and we have updated our line up page accordingly. What must be mentioned is that Saturday, August 13, still doesn't have a headliner, we're certain it's worth the wait. Another observation is that Tankcsapda has gone missing from the Rock / Metal Stage, and this stage seems that it will have another two co-headliners announced (19:00 slot on Saturday August 13 and 20:30 slot on Sunday August 14).

UPDATE: A user on the Sziget last.fm page says Foo Fighters, Klaxons and Arctic Monkeys will be announced tomorrow. Hopefully, that's not just wishful thinking... It actually was wisful thinking, but who knows? :) The official Sziget Festival Facebook page is announcing the fact that "New names for Sziget Festival 2011 line-up will be announced tomorrow!". This should be the second big announcement, featuring, most certainly, lots of interesting names.
