interpol @ sziget 2017

Interpol has announced a series of live appearances for this August and September, and thus confirmed their participation at the 2017 Sziget Festival. The band will spend most of August and part of September playing on European stages. They start their tour in Prague on the 9th, participating at events like Summer Well in Romania, AMA in Italy, DCode in Spain, and Sziget in Hungary. Update: another self-confirmed artist: Leningrad will also play at Sziget 2017, also on the 15th, at 8PM. The band currently consisting of Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler, and Sam Fogarino is working on new material to be released next year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqfiHfDmOnw&list=PLNNcYWcCAt9x15wtKffwqTD_4ulfkbQHU Interpol

Self-Confirmed: Airtist @ Sziget – August 12th

Airtist

Airtist has attended the Sziget Festival several times since it conception - the band played on one of the stages of the event in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012. And they will return to the stage this year, too, on August 12th, as their live concert schedule has self-confirmed. Airtist is a unique music project that creates the atmosphere of electronic dance music with ancient instruments and human voice. The didgeridoo, the Jew's harp and the human beatbox together create an unmatchable soundworld that is so typical to Airtist. The band don't use any electronically produced sound. Only the natural vibration of

Self-Confirmed: Haydamaky @ Sziget

Haydamaky

An older piece of news just brought to our attention (thanks chudo_pahan): Ukrainian Cossack rock band Haydamaky will return to the stage of Sziget Festival after six years. The date of their concert is yet unspecified. The band was born in 1991, after Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union. The band was known as Aktus back then, mixing Ukrainian folk music with ska and reggae. They were discovered by EMI in 2001 - it was then that the band changed its name to Haydamaki, "in honor of the eighteenth-century Haydamak rebellion against the Polish szlachta". The music of Haydamaky is inspired

Self Confirmed: Wailing Trees – August 13th @ Sziget

Wailing Trees

Another band has confirmed that it will participate at the 2015 Sziget Festival: this time it's the French roots reggae band Wailing Trees. According to the band's Facebook page, Wailing Trees will play at the Sziget Festival on the 13th of August. Nominated for the "Victoire du Reggae" in its home country, in the "Best New Artist 2014" category, and winner of the "Rototom European Reggae Contest 2014", the young and dynamic band has recently released its first album "The World Go Round" and is currently on tour to promote it. The band plays a mixture of several styles - reggae with a dash

Self Confirmed: Lord Bishop Rocks @ Sziget 2015

Lord Bishop Rocks

Self confirmed artist: Lord Bishop Rocks will visit Sziget Festival at the 16th of August as part of its MOTÖRFUNK tour. The trio - recommending itself as "the most exciting and musically gifted Rock trio of the 21st century" - plays 70s influenced Hardrock, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Reggae and Punk – meshing it into a sound they call Hendrixian Motör Funk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNJ23mKJBUA Lord Bishop Rocks has lifted this stylistic template to new stratospheric levels. Imagine Beatlesque melodies, Sabbath’s heaviness and James Brown’s funk all rolled into one. What is for sure is that sooner than later Lord Bishop Rocks will be rock music’s most well

Two new bands in the Sziget 2013 line up. Hungarian acts LochNesz and Paddy and the Rats have both self-confirmed their presence at Sziget Festival 2013. LochNesz say on their Facebook page that they will be playing Sziget 2013 on August 10 at 1 AM, while Paddy and the Rats will be on the island on the same day. Also, the official page has listed the schedule for the Colosseum stage. Check it out here. (thanks go to SkaPanda and MJ)

Che Sudaka @ Sziget 2012

And, just in time to make your Monday easier, another name has self-confirmed its presence at Sziget 2012. We’re talking about Che Sudaka, and, while you wait for them to play Sziget 2012, you can download their latest album for free on their official website. According to that same website, they will be playing Sziget 2012 on August 8, at the World Music Stage. (thanks, mellowmaniac!)

The Ting Tings selfconfirmed for Sziget 2012

Another day, more good news. A band that some of you have said you wanted to play Sziget this year has self-confirmed its presence. The Ting Tings will play Sziget Festival 2012, according to the tour dates page on their official MySpace. According to that same source, they will be at Sziget 2012 on August 12. Until now, August will also be the day for performances by Mando Diao, The Subways, as well as Magnetic Man. The Ting Tings have played Sziget Festival before, in 2009. (thanks, mellowmaniac!)

Viza self-confirms Sziget 2012

After the important Ministry self-confirmation news, another band has (kinda) self-confirmed its presence at Sziget Festival 2012. We’re talking about Viza, a band that has supported Serj Tankian on a few dates of his 2010 solo tour of Europe and that makes a very interesting music blend. Fact is that a fan asked them on their street team Facebook group if they’re playing Sziget, and Antranig Kzirian, one of Viza’s members has answered, as you can see below: A little birdie said we were invited. They’re a very interesting sounding band, and you can check out some of their tracks on their Facebook band
