The announcement that we've all been waiting for is now here. The organizers have posted it on the Official Hungarian site minutes ago and features some very important news. First of all, it's now officially confirmed that Madness will be back on the Sziget Main Stage after their great performance in 2007, like we told you some time ago. Then, Johnny Rotten of Sex Pistols fame will be at Sziget with Public Image Limited, or P.I.L. That's all in terms of Main Stage acts. According to their MySpace, Simian Mobile Disco will play Sziget Festival 2010 on August 12. We can't wait to find out what surprises the organizers have in store for tomorrow (as they announced on the official Facebook page), and we sure hope the Madness rumor confirms. The Sziget 2010 lineup has got another interesting act. Hungarian band Turbo Band has self-confirmed its presence for Sziget 2010. These guys sound quite interesting and you can watch them play live at Sziget 2010 on August 15, according to their MySpace page. Thanks go to Gabor.
Dutch band Make Believe will play Sziget 2010. They won a spot because they are 3FM Serious Talent. The information is confirmed on the Make Believe MySpace, where you can also hear their single "From The Start". Make Believe are set to play on August 12.
Romanian singer, actress and dancer Rona Hartner will be playing Sziget Festival 2010, according to her MySpace page. According to that same MySpace page, Rona Hartner will play Sziget 2010 on August 10. (thanks go to Jari)
Madness is set to return to Sziget, after the excellent performance in 2007, according to an article on website quart.hu, that you can check out here (it's in Hungarian). According to that same article, Madness would play Sziget on the next day after the Bob Marley celebration, so that would make it an August 11 performance. Nothing on the Madness website, MySpace or Facebook yet. Let's see if this gets confirmed soon. (thanks, Blaz!)
The latest official update on Facebook tells us what was still missing out of the Day Zero puzzle (August 10). First of all, the Main Stage will be the host of a celebration of Bob Marley's 65th anniversary, with a huge reggae night. The bands involved will be: Ladánybene 27 KRSA és a Paso Brass band The Aggrolites Skatalites Toots & the Maytals The Wailers UB 40 The World Music Stage will be the host of a celebration of the activity of Tamas Cseh, a Hungarian singer and songwriter that passed away last year, involving a lot of Hungarian artists.
Hungarian band Superbutt is self-confirmed for this year's Sziget Festival. The news that they will play Sziget is confirmed on Superbutt's official website. They are set to play Sziget 2010 on August 15, according to that same website. (thanks, Bas Assink)
