Iron Maiden, one of this year's Sziget headliners, has announced the release date for their new record, "The Final Frontier". The new record will be out on Monday, August 16, just after their performance at the Sziget Main Stage. Also, the band have made the artwork of the new album available. You can see it below. Iron Maiden have also made a new track, off "The Final Frontier", available as a free download to their fans. It's called El Dorado and you can get it here (the server's a bit crowded...).
Ska-P is one of the most expected-by-everyone band at this year's Sziget, judging by the number of people asking about the date when they play. The official Ska-P website now lists the band for August 11. (thanks go to Kristóf)
Some quite unfortunate news today. Girls in Hawaii drummer Dennis Wielemans has died in a car crash on Sunday May 30. His car crashed into a traffic light at 6 am, in a tunnel in Brussels. He was just 28. May he rest in peace. More details about this here. Due to these circumstances, the band was forced to cancel its appearance at Sziget Festival 2010. They will be replaced by Belgian band Mandensuyu, according the Official French Facebook page.
The Official Dutch Sziget site lists a whole lot of new and interesting names in its programme section, for the MR2, Amfitheater (jazz) Stage, and Roma Stage. An answer to a post on the official Sziget Festival Facebook page gives some interesting news for all of you asking when the final Sziget 2010 lineup and schedule will be available. The post says that "full line-up and schedule will be announced in June." We can't wait to know it.
Our friend chudo_pahan has told us about a whole bunch of interesting acts that have either confirmed themselves or are confirmed on the Dutch site. First of all, Chapelier Fou is set to play on August 12 at the Amiftheater stage, according to the MySpace page. Then, Flat Earth Society will play the same stage on August 11. This news is confirmed on their official website. They will play the BJC-Amfitheater, according to the official Dutch site. Wildbirds & Peacedrums will play on August 14. The dutch site says that they will play on A38-WAN2, while Andy Moor will play on August 12
The French Official Facebook page is confirming some good news today - more reggae for this year's Sziget! The Dubians are now confirmed, and so are Easy Star All-Stars, that we told you about a while ago. Also a new act for the Roma Stage in there: Yasmin Levy. Rona Hartner is now officially confirmed, so are Klezomofobia, for the same stage.
The official Hungarian site also features some great news for Jazz fans coming to Sziget 2010. They will get quite a treat on Day Zero, when they'll be just as lucky as reggae fans. A jazz festival will be held, featuring international artists, as well as Hungarian acts. The Sziget 2010 lineup has got another interesting act. Hungarian band Turbo Band has self-confirmed its presence for Sziget 2010. These guys sound quite interesting and you can watch them play live at Sziget 2010 on August 15, according to their MySpace page. Thanks go to Gabor.
A lot of people were talking on Szigetnews, trying to determine which Rada band is the one that's playing Sziget this year, whether it's Rada or Rada & Ternovnik. Well, as we found out from an e-mail we received from them directly, Rada, the Ukrainian pop-metal band, is the one that will play this year's Sziget Festival.
