UPDATE: Some more good (or bad) news, depending on the way you see it. :) Our friend Island was at VOLT and, according to him, Jared Leto's exact words were I have a surprise for you. We'll be back. Don't tell anyone but we'll be headlining Sziget Festival later this year! This is a speculation that, if confirmed, will make a lot of people happy. And it will also annoy a lot of people, since 30 Seconds To Mars do seem to generate mixed reactions... Our friend festivalfreak tells us that 30STM lead singer Jared Leto said at VOLT Festival (a Festival that

Schedule posted on the official Sziget website

The official Sziget website has posted the (almost full) schedule for this year's Sziget 2011. We don't have to speculate anymore, because everything is confirmed. You can check it out here and we have updated our line up page accordingly. What must be mentioned is that Saturday, August 13, still doesn't have a headliner, we're certain it's worth the wait. Another observation is that Tankcsapda has gone missing from the Rock / Metal Stage, and this stage seems that it will have another two co-headliners announced (19:00 slot on Saturday August 13 and 20:30 slot on Sunday August 14).

Sziget artists music store

Sziget News now has a new feature, an Amazon music store allowing you to buy music from your favorite artists playing Sziget 2011. To check it out, click here or on the link in the menu at the top of Sziget News. We hope you like it!

New names: The Prodigy, Empire of the Sun, Kate Nash, Kaiser Chiefs

UPDATE: According to the schedule on the official site, Empire of the Sun will play the Party Arena. The Prodigy, Kate Nash and Kaiser Chiefs will play the Main Stage. The dates are already in the lineup page. As promised yesterday, the Sziget France Facebook page is announcing the new names for the Sziget 2011 line up. Returning to Sziget will be The Prodigy. They will be joined by Empire of the Sun and Kate Nash. Kaiser Chiefs are also returning to Sziget this year.

New Main Stage names this week!

UPDATE: the Sziget France Facebook says that if they get to 17000 fans by tomorrow morning, we're going to get some new names! So get sharing the page! They're already at 16762 as we write this, so it's quite doable! Some really cool news coming from the official Sziget Facebook page. And we quote: This week we have some new names for Main Stage for you... We can't wait to hear what great band they're talking about. Who do you guys hope for?

New metal stage names announced

The official Sziget website lists a few new names for the Rock & Metal Stage. We're talking about a few Hungarian bands, completing the lineup, but also two bands a band coming from other countries. The foreign band is Swedish/Danish Progressive band The Haunted - pictured below. The Hungarian bands are Road, Dalriada, Depresszio, Nevergreen, Omen, Subscribe and Superbutt. The Lord band listed is also a Hungarian one, and they are listing the Sziget date on their website (thanks, dakota). Of course, these bands will be in our Sziget 2011 line up page very soon.
