This year's Festival is now over, and, according to preliminary data released by the organizers, this year's edition of Sziget Festival made approximately 421,000 euros in profit. The Festival was attended by a total of 385,000 people this year. How was it for you? What did you enjoy most? What disappointed you this year?
As you all know, Tobias Sammet of Edguy has a new solo project, Avantasia, that will be playing Sziget this year. Sammet has just revealedÂ the touring line-up for this summer, a very interesting one. It will feature, according to Sammet "Jorn Lande (ex-MASTERPLAN), AndrÃ© Matos (ex-ANGRA), Amanda Somerville, Olli Hartmann, Bob Catley (MAGNUM â€” not all shows), Sascha Paeth, Miro, Robert Hunecke, Claudy Yang and Frank Lindenthal who is gonna replace Eric Singer who'll be playing with KISS. Despite all rumors Michael Kiske will not be there, as he didn't wanna do it and I respect that!". Sammet promises
R.E.M's show at the Royal Albert Hall on March 24 will be aired live on the radio by BBC, on Radio 2. The show, which will be broadcast in its entierty, will be part of the birthday celebrations for the Institute of Fine Arts. R.E.M. will play the Main Stage of the Sziget Festival on the 16th of August.
