Sziget Festival has received appreciation for its environmental efforts at Greener Festival Awards. The ceremony taking place in Groningen, the Netherlands, has appreciated the green activities that Sziget organizers have undertaken.Among these, according to Budapest Business Journal, quoting a press release from the Sziget organizers, were "efficient water use, low carbon emissions, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and serving the needs of performers in a more sustainable way". It's good to see that, apart from offering great fun for those attending, Sziget puts an emphasis on something as essential as protecting the planet.

The time to purchase Sziget tickets at "early bird" rates has passed. Since August 1st, tickets and passes can only be bought at full price, the Sziget Festival website has announced a few days ago.
