Dan Panaitescu was for a long time one of the most important people in building the lineup for Sziget Festival, but not only that: he served as the International Booking Manager for Sziget, Volt, Balaton Sound, and Strand Festival. He is credited with having a very important role in the transformation of the Sziget Festival from a small, regional event into one that is widely considered one of Europe's best summer festivals. Gerendai Károly, lead organizer of the Sziget Festival, expects the number of attendees to be around last year's level. "We are preparing for the number of visitors to exceed 400,000 once
Although the budget of the Sziget Festival has grown to 4.4 billion HUF (over $16 million or 14 million euros) the current list of headliners to participate at this year's edition might not be as great as expected, the festival's organizers announced in a press conference today.
