  1. Goran Bregovic was the best performance last year at Sziget!!
    Everyone should check him out!!

Also Shantel is one of my favourites!
These are the names that makes Sziget Sziget!

  2. Is this only World Music stage?
I think some names will play on Roma stage, Meduza or MR2 stage!

  3. Whaaaaa!!! The pogues!!! It’s getting better and better!!! @bob: stay home! Whaaa, the pogues! And Stone Roses!!! Sziget, here we come!!! (please confirm At the drive in and FF and my sziget is completed!!!!!)

  4. I think it’s by far the best and most varied Worldmusicstage line-up of the last years! Kind of Best-Of plus some great additons.

  5. @mellowmaniac: you know if there’s any realistic chance that At the drive in will be confirmed? And is there information about europe stage? Will it be back in 2012 or not? I hope so…

  6. @klompje: At The Drive In will have their first European shows in August at Reading / Leeds, so far… It’s possible, but I wouldn’t bet on it (even though they would be a great addition to the program).

There are no news about the Europe Stage yet… Let’s cross fingers that they’ll keep it up!

  7. YEAHHH!

A really great line up for this stage!

my only regret is the absence of reggae… but it is usual at Sziget to have one or two reggae acts

  8. @Crazyfrog: in the last two years there has been a seperate reggae stage. Probably it will be back.

  9. @mellowmaniac this is true but there are not big reggae bands in it.
Maybe it will change this year!

Whatever this World Music Stage line up is just perfect!

  10. Yeah!!! This is really great news. Leningrad is amazing!! And I have to say I’ve never heard of the Pogues, but their music on the video on sounds very cool! I hoped for music like that.
I’m starting to get really excited about Sziget(and it is still March).

  11. Really great line-up!!!! Pogues, Bregovic, Shantel, Kusturica, Che sudaka, Muchachito Bombo Infierno, Rotfront amazing names!!

  12. Bregovic, Shantel, Kusturica,Fanfare Ciocarlia,Amsterdam Klezmer Band….. Molotov !!!!! is good to see some latin bands !! De jo !!

  13. Some bad news and some (kinda) good news:

It’s official that there will be no Europe Stage in 2012!

But the Sziget office announced that the “young, talented european acts” will be placed on the other stages – this way we might not lose the talent, but the focuspoint.

If the rumour that the Italian bands (at least Teatro Degli Orrori) will indeed perform on the afternoon of 10.08. in the Party Arena there might even be the chance that we’ll get (smaller) international bands there every day!

  14. That’s very bad news! It was a perfect location! Damn, the quality of sound in the party arena was very bad, i don’t understand this! Why sziget? Why????

  15. On Sziget Festival Official facebook, Dansor confirm that she’s going to play this year !

  16. @Mellowmaniac: That is bad news! Do you know if the whole stage ceases to exist or do they just rename it like when the jazz stage became the Europe stage?

  17. @Bender & BT203: I have no idea! I did ask for this information, too, but haven’t received a reply yet… I would love to get the Jazz stage back, but if possible with the focus on Soul and Funk! 😉

  18. Keane was just confirmed to Positivus Festival (Latvia) in July and their schedule is open in August and just week after Sziget they are on V-Festival. So the chances are very good! My fingers are crossed 🙂

  19. I just received official numbers about the split of visitors 2011 by country:

    1.) 43% – Hungary
    2.) 20% – Netherlands
    3.) 8% – France
    4.) 7% – Italy
    5.) 5% – UK
    6.) 3% – Germany
    7.) 2% – Belgium
    8.) 2% – Austria
    9) 10% – other countries

    Quite interesting figures..!
