The Dutch official Sziget Festival site lists The Offspring among the headliners for this year’s Sziget Festival. Is it really confirmed? I would be surprised. This dutch site is not quite official, i think. Hope for the best… So it looks like we have 4 of the 5 headliners. /placebo, prodigy, fatboy slim and offspring/ They are good but nothing compared to last year’s R.E.M.+Iron Maiden+Sex Pistols+Killers+Yamiroquai. Hope for some new names & really curious bout day zero. Last year was quite a few good names among the non-headliners, like MGMT, Serj, Kaiser Chifes.. This years bands are good but I cant understand how can they be headliners. (Although better than the Kooks – it was a joke) They announce arctic monkeys and thats it? It would be poor. BTW yesterday’s AC/DC concert was FUCKING EPIC.
Fatboy Slim headlining? Surely not? He’s nowhere near headline material. Plus given Tankscapda’s appearance on Day -1 does this not mean there are technically 7 headliners this year? (if you include Day -1 and Day Zero) Placebo and Prodigy are definitely good headline material and well worth seeing along with The Offspring. Maybe not quite on par with Iron Maiden and R.E.M but given there are still many slots including Day Zero yet to fill there is an enormous amount of potential.
