The official Sziget website lists a few new names for the Rock & Metal Stage. We're talking about a few Hungarian bands, completing the lineup, but also two bands a band coming from other countries. The foreign band is Swedish/Danish Progressive band The Haunted - pictured below. The Hungarian bands are Road, Dalriada, Depresszio, Nevergreen, Omen, Subscribe and Superbutt. The Lord band listed is also a Hungarian one, and they are listing the Sziget date on their website (thanks, dakota). Of course, these bands will be in our Sziget 2011 line up page very soon.
Rock Stage
Antytila @ Sziget Festival 2010
Ukrainian band Antytila has won the Nemiroff contest and will play Sziget 2010. The Ukranian rock band will play the Rock Stage on August 13. Their performance is set to start at 00:40. Check out some of their songs here. Thanks go to Szigetnews friend chudo_pahan for telling us about this.
Children of Bodom on August 11
We all already know that Finnish band Children of Bodom will play the Rock Stage at Sziget this year. What we didn't know was the date when they would do it. A post on their MySpace blog clears that up, too. Children of Bodom will play Sziget Festival 2010 on August 11. A very full metal day it is, since we'll get to see Children of Bodom, as well as Ill Nino, according to current info. (thanks, Anthony)
Kamelot to play Sziget 2010 on August 14
No new acts this time, just a date that also goes into our lineup page. Kamelot will play Sziget Festival 2010 on August 14 according to their official website. Most certainly at the Rock Stage.
Even more metal: Turisas confirmed for Sziget 2009
Even more good news for metal fans. It seems that the metal announcements were saved for last, let's hope they keep coming. Turisas, the Finnish Viking Metal Band, an interesting act indeed, are confirmed on their website for this year's Sziget Festival. They will be at Sziget on Saturday, August 15, according to their official site (thanks, Mellowmaniac & chudo_pahan).
Satyricon to replace GWAR at Sziget 2009
Finally, some good news for all the metalheads coming to Sziget, after GWAR's cancellation, that probably sadened quite a few people. The official Hungarian site lists Satyricon, the legendary Norwegian Black Metal band, that will come to raise hell at this year's Sziget Rock Stage.
Jet confirmed for Sziget Festival 2009
Australian band Jet are confirmed on their MySpace for this year's Sziget Festival (thanks, Mellowmaniac). Jet will play on August 14, possibly on the main stage or on the rock stage.
An all-new stage – The Rock Stage
The official Hungarian site lists a new stage for this year's stage, that looks like a follow-up to the now gone Hammer World - The Rock Stage. This is where metal, punk, hard core, pop-rock, hard rock, blues and indie rock acts will play and among the acts listed for the new Rock Stage are Expatriate, Donots, GWAR, Turbonegro, Life of Agony, Brujeria and Backyard Babies.
