Here's an update on the earlier Rise Against rumor. We tried to confirm this with their staff, and we got an answer a few minutes ago from Missy Worth, at their management. This is what it said: We will not be playing- we won't be in Europe in august Sorry to give you this news, but the information on the last.fm page is inaccurate. We also got some good news from the Rise Against management - the band will play in Budapest in June.
The Sziget 2010 last.fm page confirms another very interesting and important act for this year's Sziget Festival - Asian Dub Foundation! This is not confirmed somewhere else yet. If you know more, please tell us (thanks, BT2303) Our reader kocheba says that two bands from Belarus are also set to play Sziget 2010 - The Toobes and Serebryanaja Svad`ba.

Unfortunately, due to guitarist Danny suffering a serious motorcycle accident, Vive la fete's performance at Sziget Festival 2009 was cancelled, according to their official website.
Our friend Mellowmaniac has noticed that the Meduza Stage schedule has finally been posted on the official site, including Andrew Weatherall. What are you guys looking forward to at the Meduza Stage?
Not a lot to tell you about in the past few days. Some interesting and maybe not so good news comes from our friend Mellowmaniac, quoting an e-mail from the Sziget press office. It seems that, if you wanted to see Bloc Party and 808 State, you won't be able to. They're both playing at the same time. 808 State is set to play sas the headliner of the Party Arena on August 13 (which means around 19:30), so it's about the same time as Bloc Party. Quoting the same source, our friend says they hope to have the complete lineup (including
Even more good news for metal fans. It seems that the metal announcements were saved for last, let's hope they keep coming. Turisas, the Finnish Viking Metal Band, an interesting act indeed, are confirmed on their website for this year's Sziget Festival. They will be at Sziget on Saturday, August 15, according to their official site (thanks, Mellowmaniac & chudo_pahan).
Finally, some good news for all the metalheads coming to Sziget, after GWAR's cancellation, that probably sadened quite a few people. The official Hungarian site lists Satyricon, the legendary Norwegian Black Metal band, that will come to raise hell at this year's Sziget Rock Stage.
IMPORTANT: Sorry to says this, but caboodle.hu seems to have been very wrong writing this and something got "lost in translation". We just quoted them. We'll keep this post just because we don't want to lose your comments. The admin on the Italian Sziget forum also confirmed that this was a mistake by caboodle. (thanks Dkm). You wanted some more important names on Day Zero, here they are. According to caboodle.hu, quoting activist and part of the organising team Sam Duckworth, Franz Ferdinand, The Good, The Bad & The Queen and Franz Ferdinand will play on Day Zero, "Rock Against
The Sziget Last.fm page lists two more interesting names, added to what we already know. It seems that Jose Padilla, the Spanish DJ and ambient music producer (read more about him and his music on his MySpace) will be at Sziget Festival. Some good news (if they confirm) for metalheads, too. The same last.fm page lists German dark metal Eisregen as one of the acts playing this year's Sziget Festival. Hopefully, it confirms, especially since GWAR was cancelled. LATER EDIT: Szigetnews friend alex tells us that Jose Padilla is officially confirmed on the Dutch Official Site.
