Sziget 2020 is officially cancelled, due to the ban on events in Hungary being extended due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the organisers have announced.

What we were discussing yesterday has, unfortunately, happened. The Sziget organizers have announced, via a Facebook post (see image below), that unfortunately, this year’s festival will not be going ahead.

The Hungarian government has had to impose a ban on all large-scale events due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This ban has been extended until the 15th of August, 2020.

The Sziget organizers have asked for everyone’s patience while ticketing details are being worked out and details are to be shared in due course.

Despite the fact that this ban ends up with Sziget 2020 cancelled, we’re sure Sziget will return much stronger in 2021.
