The UK Festival Awards have announced their nominees and Sziget Festival is amongst them again. Last year, Sziget Festival was the winner of the Best Overseas Festival category and it's great to see that our favourite island extravaganza is in the running yet again for this prestigious distinction. Fans will vote online for their favourites and that determines the shortlist. After that, a panel of judges decides the winner. You can find out more about this here.

Yesterday, Sziget Festival announced the latest additions to its 2019 lineup, naming the artist to occupy the last free headliner slot: it's The National, the American rock band formed in 1999 in Ohio. The band has just announced the imminent release of its new album called "Am Easy to Find" scheduled on May 17th - this means that their fans will be delighted to hear their fresh materials the best way, live on the stage. Bad news for world music loving Szitizens: after years and years, Sziget closes its World Music Stage starting its 2019 edition. The news was broken by Lángoló Gitárok, a long-running Hungarian music blog, and confirmed by Kardos József, Sziget's Program Manager. Not long after the festival revealed its first major name - Ed Sheeran - for Sziget 2019, the early-bird prices for next year's festival passes were also revealed.
