UPDATE: A user on the Sziget last.fm page says Foo Fighters, Klaxons and Arctic Monkeys will be announced tomorrow. Hopefully, that's not just wishful thinking... It actually was wisful thinking, but who knows? :) The official Sziget Festival Facebook page is announcing the fact that "New names for Sziget Festival 2011 line-up will be announced tomorrow!". This should be the second big announcement, featuring, most certainly, lots of interesting names. On the other hand, the official Sziget France Facebook page has announced the schedule for days -1 and 0. Day -1 - August 8 - will be the day of the "European
...and we just can't wait! According to an answer from the admin of the official Sziget Facebook page, the next lineup announcement is coming next week. So it's quite possible for some names to pop up in the next few days. (thanks, tool06)
Here's some more good lineup news for you guys. Our reader Festivalfreak (we'd like to thank him) had some email conversations with the White Lies manager, and he has received some great news. He asked their management whether White Lies will play Hungary or Slovakia, and he got the answer Yes, White Lies will be at Sziget ...so it's official. White Lies was at Sziget 2009, too.
Now, here's the first important name for Sziget Festival 2011. The National will be playing everybody's favorite festival on August 14, according to their official website. If new names appear, you will definitely read about them on our lineup page. (Thanks go to arteet)
Another day, another name for Sziget Festival 2011. French rock band Les Hurlements d'Leo have self-confirmed their presence in the Sziget Festival 2011 lineup on their official MySpace page. The French alternative band should be a fabulous addition to the Sziget 2011 lineup. They mix French sounds with gypsy, Latin, ska, punk and energetic rock and have very dynamic concerts.
Our reader Iris Cretu has posted a very cool video, illustrating the way she saw Sziget this year, on our Facebook page. We liked it and thought you guys might want to watch it, too.
Ukrainian band Antytila has won the Nemiroff contest and will play Sziget 2010. The Ukranian rock band will play the Rock Stage on August 13. Their performance is set to start at 00:40. Check out some of their songs here. Thanks go to Szigetnews friend chudo_pahan for telling us about this.
As you may remember, Rise Against were set to play at last year's Sziget Festival, but it didn't work out after all. As it seems, an appearance by the band is possible in this year's Sziget Festival line-up, as their name has shown up on the Sziget last.fm page. We're trying to find out more about this and will keep you posted on what we discover.
