VOLT 2018: Depeche Mode, Iron Maiden & Others 2018 Lineup Tickets and Passes VOLT Festival 2018 November 13, 201712 VOLT Festival (28-30 June 2018) is another major event organized by Sziget Kulturális Menedzser Iroda Kft. The event is organized in Sopron (one of the westernmost cities in Hungary) since 1993, initially as an Easter event, later – as its popularity has risen – as a summer festival opposite to Sziget. As its big brother, VOLT is also a multicultural event covering everything from a variety of musical styles to movie screenings, on-stage shows, exhibitions, and many others. And it has already revealed five of its biggest names for VOLT 2018: Depeche Mode (Day 0) Iron Maiden Hollywood Undead Hurts Rudimental (DJ set) I think none of the above need any introduction. It seems that the new management is making a dood job…DM is not my taste anymore…I saw them..when they were young…but…they have a lot of fans in the world….
How expensive Volt this year… Anyway, just a brief recap on what happened around in the summer festival scene this year so far: – Northside announced BJORK, A PERFECT CIRCLE, QOTSA, THE NATIONAL – Download announced GNR, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, OZZY OSBOURNE – Nova Rock announced AVENGED SEVENFOLD, IRON MAIDEN, VOLBEAT – Pinkpop announced BRUNO MARS, FOO FIGHTERS – Inmusic announced QOTSA, SKUNK ANANSIE – Roskilde announced BRUNO MARS, VINCE STAPLES, WILKINSON, MOGWAI – Open’er announced BRUNO MARS, GORILLAZ – Dour announced MURA MASA – Bilbao BBK announced GORILLAZ, THE XX – Nos Alive announced THE NATIONAL I’m pretty positive in saying that all of those bands will be out of the circuit during august. If that reveals to be true, I’ll go to shed a tear for Bjork, Gorillaz, Qotsa, The National and A Perfect Circle
@Yelo last time QOTSA came at Sziget, in 2014, their European tour started at the end of may with Primavera Sound. With them you never know, but I agree on every other name (unfortunately). Anyway great names for VOLT. Let’s hope Sziget will be the next one.
Florence + the Machine & The xx were announced for Melt Festival, which takes place between 13 and 15 July, so we might see them at Sziget.
He can’t play day -1 as day -1 is 8 Aug. He’ll be in Poland the 11th so he can only play the 9th. But in his tour there are neither a festival date nor a gig in Budapest, don’t know what to think. Anyway it’s not a name I’d like to see in the lineup but as we’ll surely have some pop headliners better him then other artists. You may like him or not, but he’s quality.
