Sziget fans need not despair, though, as their favorite week-long event is preparing for the second round of name reveals toward the end of this month. Until then, here are the performers who are already booked to play in Sopron, Hungary, between 26-29 June 2019: The first names for VOLT 2019 Slipknot Slash Parov Stelar Robin Schultz LP Tankcsapda Majka Punnany Massif Rúzsa Magdolna Slipknot The American heavy metal / nu metal band Slipknot has a history of more than two decades – it was formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995. They made a name for themselves with their aggressive sound and eye-catching appearance. Over its long career, the band released five studio albums and is preparing for the sixth – its title and release date are yet to be announced. Slash Slash rose to world fame as the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses but he didn’t become any less talented after he and the band parted ways in the mid-1990s. He released six albums with GNR, three with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, two with Slash’s Snakepit, two with Velvet Revolver, and one solo album – he is one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and next year, he will take the stage at VOLT 2019. Parov Stelar Parov Stelar is a performer who needs no interaction – he has played at Sziget several times in the past. Next year, his electro swing and downtempo tunes will enchant the people over at Sopron. Robin Schulz German musician, DJ and record producer Robin Schulz is at his first time at a Sziget-backed festival. He has three studio albums on record. His first single, a remix of “Waves” by Mr Probz was nominated for the “Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical” Grammy award. LP Laura Pergolizzi, better known by her stage name LP, has released four studio albums and prepares for the release of her fifth. Her work can be heard in many other places, though, as she wrote songs for artists like Cher, Rihanna, Leona Lewis, and Christina Aguillera. Her new album is set to be released on December 7. Tankcsapda Tankcsapda has been around for ages – it was founded in 1989 in Debrecen, Hungary, by Lukács László (singer, guitarist), Buzsig György (percussion), and Tóth Laboncz Attila, aka Labi (bass). Initially, the band played punk rock but it later shifted toward hard rock and heavy metal, reaching true notoriety in Hungary by the year 2000. Over the years, the band has released 13 albums, won several local awards, and played at Sziget in 2014. Majka The reality show star turned rapper Majka has released five studio albums during his long career (he emerged in 2003). He released several singles, he collaborated with other artists, and got into feuds like all major rappers do, and he won a bunch of awards as well. Punnany Massif Punnany Massif is another familiar name for Sziget fans – they’ve played several times on the Island in the past. The band formed in 2003 playing “social funk” ever since. They have several albums under their belt, along with quite a few awards, including a VIVA Comet for the “Best Video”. They played the official Sziget anthem in 2013. Rúzsa Magdolna Last but not least, let us mention Rúzsa Magdolna, who broke into the common knowledge by winning a televised talent show in 2005. Since then, she released several studio and live albums, has collaborated on various EPs and singles, and won the award for the Best Writer at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. A guy on another forum said that Sziget Italia announced that they are going to announce 3 headliners on Tuesday.
@SkaPanda, I didn’t see any sponsored post here in Italy, the post is in Egnlish? @Sziget, I follow constantly Sziget Italia but I never read that we can wait 3 headliners. Where did you find it?
There is also a guy from the Sziget Netherlands staff on reddit (Sziget_Kylian). He replied to a comment with “How about more than 3! :)” I will take it as another confirmation.
I don’t think that we’ll get Metallica, but I think there will be at least 2 of these: Foo Fighters, 21 Pilots, Florence + the Machine and/or The Cure!
I think it’s gonna be a disappointing announcement like all the other announcements this year. They spent all their money for Ed joke Sheeran! 🙂
Palinka don’t lose faith. I’m very sure there is a lot of money now thanks to the huge attendance of last year and the new organization behind the festival. Anyway, if the Foos are really in I’ll be the happiest man on earth.
